Started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, whose first International Games filled Soldier Field in Chicago in 1968. It now runs year-round training and competition in over 30 Olympic-type sports for more than 6 million athletes across 200 countries, on the back of 777,670 volunteers and 366,978 coaches, and it screens athletes' health at the games because most of them cannot get that care anywhere else.
